How it works
Download & Install
Download the app for your platform.
Mac: Right-click → Open to bypass Gatekeeper.
Windows: Click "More info" → "Run anyway" if SmartScreen blocks it. Allow through Windows Firewall when prompted.
Accept Terms
Review and accept the privacy-focused terms on first launch.
Open StreamTool
The app runs in your system tray. Click it to open the StreamTool website.
Start Streaming!
Enter your TikTok username and connect to your live stream.
Troubleshooting
Website says "Connector not detected"
- Check if app is running: Look for the 1Hood icon in your system tray (bottom right on Windows, top menu bar on Mac)
- Test the connection: Open
http://127.0.0.1:3001/healthin your browser - you should see a JSON response - Disable ad blockers: Extensions like uBlock, AdBlock, or Privacy Badger can block localhost connections. Disable them or try Incognito mode
- Windows Firewall: Allow 1Hood Connector through Windows Firewall (Settings → Privacy & Security → Firewall)
App won't start or install
- Mac: Right-click the app → Open (bypasses Gatekeeper security)
- Windows: Click "More info" → "Run anyway" when SmartScreen appears
- Antivirus: Add an exception for 1Hood Connector in your antivirus software
Old version still running after update
- Windows: Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) → Details tab → End all "1Hood Connector.exe" and "node.exe" processes
- Mac: Force Quit (Cmd+Option+Esc) any 1Hood processes
- Then run the new installer
No sound/TTS not working
- Make sure you're running version 1.0.2-beta or later (check at
http://127.0.0.1:3001/health) - Comments must mention "Neo" to trigger AI responses
- Click somewhere on the page first (browsers require user interaction before playing audio)
Security & Privacy
We do not collect any personal data. Your API keys are encrypted and stored only on your computer. The only network connections are to TikTok (for your stream), AI providers (if you add keys), and Microsoft Edge TTS (free text-to-speech).
